A wide range of individual and group volunteer opportunities is available at both our North Ridge and Bloomington communities. Opportunities include visiting residents, escorting, and assisting with a great variety of activities, such as popcorn parties, bingo, sing-alongs and special events. Volunteers are rewarded with the knowledge that a difference has been made in the life of residents and through wonderful relationships with great people!
Prior to placement, all volunteers attend an orientation session, which
includes the following:
- History and philosophy of our Masonic Homes
- Resident Bill of Rights and the Vulnerable Adults Protection Act
- Communication with elderly residents
- Policies and Procedures for volunteers
- Infection control, safety and emergency procedures
- Specific duties of the individual's position
