Seventy five percent of all CareBreak participants are transported to and from the program via CareBreak vans. Transportation is available in North Minneapolis, the north and northwest suburbs and much of western Suburban Hennepin County.
During many hours of the day, these vans are not in use and are available for rental by other organizations. We can serve you with fixed schedules, or on an event-by-event basis. All vans in the fleet are specially equipped to accommodate handicapped and non-handicapped passengers.
Transportation service can be provided during the hours of 10:00a.m. until 2:30p.m., and 5:00p.m. until trip completion Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, we can provide service beginning at 7:00a.m. through trip completion.
Each of our drivers is State Department of Transportation/Special Transportation Services (STS) certified, which includes coursework completed in defensive driving, CPR and first aid. Our vans are inspected by the Department of Transportation and are STS certified.
